Why did California turn down Prop 19, thought that was a sure win?
I don’t smoke marijuana or live in California, I’m just curious as to why it failed after so much hype.

The rest of their voting indicates they’re already smoking it, and could care less if it’s legal or not.
Because the people that would have supported it didn’t go out to vote.

Their police force won’t be able to afford cars anymore so they can get away with pretty much anything. Why waste your time legalizing it?

Because when voters get to the booth many believe legalizing pot will mean more drugs in schools and more problems in society in general.
Whether or not these concerns are valid, perception means everything during elections.
All the supporters of Prop 19 checked the wrong box, for they were high as always.
May be it was rigged. I don’t really trust the voting process
Because KIDS can not vote and those over 18 that support it were likely to stoned to get to the polls

it is because california isn’t what the stereotype suggests, not every californian lives in sanfranciso or los angeles and the people out in the sticks in cali are just as backwoods as an arkansas redneck and its not as liberal as everyone says it is. damn governer is republican lol. i mean i know its the terminator and all, but regan was gov of cali too. not to mention stoners dont vote.
people are stupid tho, if they wanted to secure the border and fix the tax problems in california, you would think they would legalize pot. it will stop the flow of drugs from mexico if they cant make a buck any more. people living in san diego should have wished prop 19 passed. maybe if they call it prop 420 in 2012 it will pass
