Wow. this is the most angry I’ve been in a long, long time. Is this even legal?
So I ordered a laser pointer from amazon, Right? A while later, I get that email saying “will you review this purchase”? So I do. I give it a 3/5, say “yeah, it’s a pot mod, but its ok. It looks cool”. So the seller sees my review. He actually calls my mom’s cell phone and tells her to tell me to take down the review. He sends me emails saying that it hurts him when I give him a bad review. OK, but no way in hell that you email me and call my parents about a review. The whole point of reviews is to tell people about a product. How can it be legal to put pressure on someone to give you a five star or no review? His excuse is, and I quote, “I sell a very good product. I bet you just got the wrong one, because mine is definitely five star.” I took the review down so he would stop emailing me, but god, am I angry.
a pot mod essentially means that they change a resistor to get more power but less life. It’s like cheating.
If you gave an honest review, the guy was out of line.
What is a “pot mod”?
It’s legal for you to give the product a bad review. It’s legal for him to ask you to take it down.
It would have been legal for you to say no. Reviews are a matter of opinion.

See if you can contact Amazon and tell them about the pressure from the guy.
I have ordered products from Amazon and use the reviews to help decide which one to get (if any). I find honest reviews to be valuable.
Please pursue this with Amazon and see if you can file some type of complaint against this provider.
Put it back for cripes sake grow a backbone, he asked for the review and you were honest, if he keeps calling and e-mailing you let him know that you will take him to court for harassment, that should shut him up. Most of all STICK TO YOUR GUNS and don’t let anyone push you around like that.
I would have made copies of the e-mails and forwarded them to amazon. I would also have left the review up. I also would have told the freak that if he continued to make calls and e-mails to either my parents or myself, I would file a complaint with the police for harassment.
For one, my question is how did he get your mother’s cell phone number???
Nevertheless, what he did was legal. He has the right to call, email, send a letter, and heck, even visit you to ask you to remove it. As well as you have the right to leave a negative/postive remark.
The point of the review is so you can let other buyers know what you thought the product. If he didn’t want your honest opinion, then he shouldn’t ask for it. If you want you can contact Amazon and let them know everything that is going on. I’m sure they wouldn’t want sellers like them to ruin their repletion.
*That why ebay no longer allow sellers to leave feedbacks on buyers. Buyers were so scared to receiving a bad feedback that they said anything rude. They now are able to express their honest thoughts
