i live next to a house that got busted last night for growing marijuana. They found 16 plants and they are a half a block away from the school.

What state ? In New York you get up to 15 years
In england you’d get a fine and possibly a night in the cells for that kind of amount; it’d have to be a big operation indeed (thousands of dollars worth) to get you jail time. In the USA, don’t even think about it, their laws are twisted and the jails more full than any country in the world. 1% of the usa has been to jail, which is astounding, worrying, and sad.
Cannabis is illegal through an accident of history. No recorded deaths vs thousands who die every year from alcohol makes the law totally wrong.

In some states, with a license, you may have a certain number of flowering and non-flowering plants. It just depends where you live. If you do not have a license, it will depend on priors, and if you were intending to sell.
Depends on where you are. Some states arent very strict while others go wayyyy overboard. Its just a plant, it should be legal anyways. Oh yea, growing close to a school would probably add some time on to his/her sentence. What a shame 🙁
