police arrest an albuquerque middle school teacher… saying they found 20 pounds of marijuana at her house. police say their investigation started after the teacher’s own son was arrested for having pot on a middle school campus. kayla anderson is live at apd headquarters with the details. kayla.s there were also reports that student was selling pot at school. a concerned citizen actually tipped off police– saying that student’s mother– an aps teacher– was growing pot at her home. this is kathi hunter’s yearbook picture… a smiling, seemingly normal and legitimate eighth grade teacher at grant middle school. and this is her mug shot. she’s charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. “they had loed in the backyard from the sidewalk and they saw a large plant in the backyard, which was consistent to being marijuana.” on thursday police seized 11 marijuana plants that had been growing in hunter’s backyard– at this northeast albuquerque home. they also found 27 drying marijuana stems hanging in her master bathroom… and two individual jars of pot. the total weight of marijuana seized– about 20 pounds “her explanation was that she said the plants, the 11 plants that she had in her house, was, according to her, which was growing marijuana for health reasons.” but police say they can’t find any record that hunter has a medical marijuana license. she was arrested today. “our employee has been with us since 2005. she’s been at four different
