I don’t really get what you are talking about. The fact that marijuana is easy to grow is not the reason that it’s illegal.

Why Marijuana should be legal in first place? I am totally against it. Aren’t we having enough problem in the world using Marijuana illegally?

With legal use, people who can not afford to buy or use now, it will be within their reach, isn’t it?

For the people who act as though weed is the anti-christ, I wonder how often you’ve been around smokers, or smoked yourself. Weed, depending on how much you smoke, and how potent that particular plant is, along with personal biology determines how high you get. People are usually fully aware of what they’re doing when they’re high. It’s not like somebody is going to smoke a blunt, then jump off of a building because they think they can fly. You are more aware than that.

Now, yes, it does have different affects on different people,I’m not denying that. But the affects of weed aren’t as bad as those of tobacco. There is a time to smoke, and a time to leave it alone.

You pretty much hit the question on the nail, asker. The factors that caused weed to become illegal involved racism, classism, religion, and money. If you look up why pretty much every drug is illegal now, you’ll find those 4 factors at the source in one way or another.

Although green is healthier than tobacco, the fact that users get high – a temporary change in brain chemistry; your brain releases more dopamine (which is a natural hormone already in the body that causes happiness) – is why most people don’t support it. They really don’t understand it. People who’ve never smoked or been in contact with weed wouldn’t know what type of affects it had, and how they would personally react to using it. And no preacher is going to tell you to do anything illegal so because weed is illegal, they won’t say it’s OK to smoke, or drink, or eat it.

Weed became illegal because the government was trying to stop the constant flow if Mexican immigrants into the country. Weed grows in large amounts naturally in Mexico and other parts of the world. Immigrants would bring the weed here, and sell it, then take the money back to the South, or stay here. But not everyone who bought or sold weed smoked it. Weed has many other uses like: shampoo, soap, lotion, other hair care products, pain killers/medicine, plastics, rope (hemp rope was the “Cadillac” of ropes during hangings), and other non-drug related uses. In a nutshell, the government didn’t like that so different people came up with different kinds of propaganda and lobbying and had it outlawed.

That’s similar to how the government had given out warnings about the dangers of cocaine use for years, but it didn’t become illegal until someone came up with the idea that cocaine made black men rape white women. Plus they allowed the police to get stronger weapons because there were reports that if a black man got high on cocaine, standard police fire arms of the time couldn’t kill him (effectively). That was also “supported” by an isolated incident where a black man who happened to be high on cocaine attacked a police officer, and the officer had to shoot him with all 6 .22 or .38 caliber (i forget the actual size) bullets in his gun to kill him. After that, the police (in that particular area) began using the .357 magnum, as the standard.
