Also, it hurts from about my throat to my sternum ALOT. I mean it feels like its all contracting and tightening up and it really hurts, could marijuana have caused it?

Its not normal. Ive been smoking weed for 3 years and besides the phlegm and lungs, ive never gotten throat problems…but hey, everyone reacts differently
smoking anything is not going to be good for your lungs, but you can minimize the heat of the smoke by using a bong with a peculator/diffuser, which might help minimize discomfort.
