First of all I am 18 and I do live with my mom. I asked her if I could get a hookah and she says no because she thinks a hookah is used to smoke marijuana and not tobacco.
What should I do to convince her to allow me to use one in the house?

Invite her to a hookah lounge and let her experience it first-hand (joking).

first and automatic reaction to your question was
WHAT?? Are you on drugs!!!
Your mom grew up in a time when they were predominantly
(actually I should say always) used to smoke hash. And I
would tend to believe that YOU also want it for that and not smoking tobacco, you wanna smoke tobacco get a pipe, cigarettes etc you don’t need a hookah pipe.
Stop trying to pull moms leg, she wasn’t born yesterday.
If you were my kid 18 or not, you wouldn’t even be smoking cigarettes in the house let alone using a hookah, tobacco or not.
Stop fooling yourself and your poor mom and show some respect for her and HER home. When you move out and have your own place you can do what ever you deem necessary there, BUT NOT at moms place. OK, be a man
and give her respect for her wishes.
I’ve seen plenty of people using them for tobacco, it cools and filters the smoke, so you inhale less harmful materials, while still being able to enjoy a good smoke.
