um… so, 20-30 min TOPS in the alcohol, not the o-rings, alcohol destroys rubber. Take all of the parts apart every time. After alcohol soak, put the parts (not the little pieces with the screen) in the silverware tray of your dishwasher. Once the cycle is done, reassemble the parts. Your volcano is brand new, and you’ve gone to virtually NO effort. I cannot notice any discernible smell in my dishwasher, FYI.
