Wow, who took that footage? That was Buddy Guy’s original Checker Board-a very small club but always exciting to play in. And with extra action in the back room!
i got to play (harp) there often way back when-Dizz ran the jams, Johnny WInter, Billy Branch, Johnny Drummer, and many others would come in and jam. Woody, Dizz’ brother played the wildest blues beat you ever did hear. Monday afternoon right through the night. Blue Monday. It was a ball back then.
