If Prop 19 (legalize marijuana), will law enforcement be able to smoke marijuana if their off duty?
california already made it (starting the beginning of next year) that u can have an ounce or less and its just an infraction and no longer a misdemeanor, so its no longer 1 gram

they can drink while off duty—same principle with pot
Each department will have its own policy.
No police department will allow thier officers do do drugs on or off duty. Can you imagine the lawsuit if something happens and the department gets sued because they allowed a pothead to carry a gun and drive a police car?

IT IS NOT BEING MADE LEGAL!!! It is still illegal and Officers will not be doing anything illegal.
Under 1 gram will no longer be a criminal charge it is still illegal but you will be only getting a ticket under 1 gram.
It is not being made legal.
Certain uses are being decriminalized.
That means you can have under 1 gram and get a ticket , like a parking ticket , not a criminal record.
Lots more changes too : like legal weed smoking coffee shops, ability to grow a 5×5 plot of plants, taxes for the State budget etc…stores with business licenses who can sell weed.
Selling to a minor or driving stoned will still be a criminal charge.
