What are the effects of marijuana or alcohol on someone who has schizophrenia?
I have schizophrenia and am taking medication for it. I been stable for 10 years now and have had no delusions or hallusinations. Just out of curiosity I have been tempted to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana but I am scared that it may make me delusional or possibly have hallusinations.So my my main question is that if is safe for someone like me to who has been stable for years and on medication to drink alcohol or smoke marijuana?

If you have schizophrenia and are on medications, you really need to consult your doctor before you use alcohol. If you are so scared that alcohol and marijuana will cause problems, then why are you even considering them? Alcohol and marijuana can cause problems for people who are not schizophrenic, so I would stay away from them. Be glad that your meds are working and don’t experiment. You might get yourself into a mess that you cannot get out of.
Not good it will f u up if you combine it with medicine my friend took alchahol with his OCD medicine and almost died in the hospital

It’s probably safe, as long as your medication can be mixed with alcohol(unlikely). I’m sure there is a chance of either of the two causing problems, but it’s probably slim. But are you willing to take that chance just to get drunk or high? If your symptoms were that bad in the beginning, I would suggest staying off all drugs that aren’t prescribed to you.
Marijuana doesn’t really mix badly with any drugs that im aware of so thats probably chill. It doesn’t give you hallucinations either so your probably good. The sauce on the other hand is gay and fucks with medicine.
