People say that the reason marijuana is illegal is because it can’t be taxed. Why cant it be taxed like tobacco? Personally I think it’s illegal because of all of the corporations that could be replaced by marijuana cultivation. Plastic company, Oil company, cotton company(or farms) etc. Your thoughts?

People would just grow their own instead of paying taxes for it. I know I would.
It could be taxed. That is why Cali is considering making it legal since they are in financial trouble. They need the taxes from it.
William F. : They would continue to have it illegal to grow it. Just like it’s illegal to manufacture hard liquor. If the government legalizes it, you can bet they won’t permit you not to pay the taxes!
The reason marijuana is illegal is because it impairs the brain due to the THC in it, not because it cannot be taxed. And because alcohol has the same effect, it should be legalized and taxed like cigarettes, and with its legalization should come some rules like alcohol does.
William F is also correct, people could grow their own. But for those who don’t want to do all that, they could go out and buy it like cigarettes.
Why are liberals always stupid enough to accept more taxes but reject cutting spending?
For God’s sake (and their families’), I hope they don’t handle their own household budgets.
I agree with you about the corporate ban. We can thank dupont and plastic for that.
