Why does Alabama have a tax stamp law on marijuana?
and if it is taxable how is it illegal? I do not understand all the fuss on marijuana anyways!!!

The purpose of drug tax laws is to impose an additional penalty (tax evasion) on offenders charged with a drug violation.
They were enacted as part of the Regan administration’s “War on Drugs.”
In this state (Indiana), tax stamp charges were struck down as “double jeopardy.” In Alabama, they were not.
I `m not 100% sure this is right but I think it`s so if you get caught selling it they can charge you with tax evasion also. This happened to a friend of mine and I agree with you! If alcohol is legal with all the trouble it causes, it makes no sense for them to outlaw a weed! Like an old hippie told me once: Man made liquor, God made pot, God is perfect, man is not! To call pot illegal is like calling God a criminal!
